The Secretary-General of the International Parliamentarians Congress (IPC), Senator Sitara Ayaz, attended the National Prayer Breakfast 2026, held from 4–5 January 2026 in Washington, D.C., representing IPC at this prestigious international gathering.
It was a privilege for Senator Sitara Ayaz to participate in the National Prayer Breakfast, a globally recognized forum that brings together political leaders, parliamentarians, policymakers, and representatives of international organizations to promote dialogue, reflection, and cooperation on shared values of peace, unity, and global understanding.
During the two-day event, Senator Sitara Ayaz held a series of important bilateral meetings with parliamentarians and heads of international organizations, focusing on strengthening parliamentary diplomacy, enhancing international cooperation, and expanding IPC’s global engagement.
As part of the official National Prayer Breakfast program, Senator Sitara Ayaz also visited the White House, reflecting the significance of the event and its role in fostering high-level engagement among global leaders.
On the sidelines of the Breakfast, Senator Sitara Ayaz held meetings with several distinguished personalities, including H.E. Craig Stanton, Member of the United States Congress, H.E. Armend Zemaj, Member of the Parliament of Kosovo, Ms. Grace Nelson, wife of former U.S. Senator and former NASA Administrator Bill Nelson, Dr. Michael Jackson, President of The Washington Times Holdings LLC, Ms. Rosi Orozco, former Congresswoman, and Ms. Francesca Ricci from the International Union. These interactions focused on parliamentary cooperation, interfaith dialogue, global governance, and opportunities for collaboration through the IPC platform.
In addition, Senator Sitara Ayaz was warmly received at the Permanent Mission of Pakistan to the United Nations, where she held a substantive meeting with H.E. Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmed, Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations. The meeting underscored the importance of Pakistan’s role in multilateral diplomacy and explored avenues for collaboration between IPC and Pakistan’s UN Mission in advancing parliamentary engagement at the global level.
Senator Sitara Ayaz’s participation in the National Prayer Breakfast 2026 reaffirmed IPC’s commitment to fostering dialogue, parliamentary diplomacy, and constructive international engagement.
