International Parliamentarians Congress

Islamabad, July 24, 2025: A stakeholders’ meeting on enhancing engagement with the African continent was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), Islamabad. The session brought together representatives from key institutions and organizations to deliberate on strategic avenues for deepening Pakistan’s diplomatic, economic, and parliamentary ties with African nations.

Senator Sitara Ayaz, Secretary-General of the International Parliamentarians Congress (IPC), participated in the meeting alongside General (R) Muhammad Tayyab Azam, Special Advisor to IPC on the African Region. The IPC delegation shared insights on the organization’s active engagement with African parliamentary bodies and highlighted its recent successes in fostering inter-parliamentary cooperation and regional integration.

Discussions focused on advancing multilateral partnerships, enhancing trade and investment prospects, and increasing parliamentary outreach through collaborative efforts.

The meeting underscored Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its footprint across Africa through constructive diplomacy and inclusive dialogue.
